Hey look, it's a brand new song from me! After a long winter, here is a song for your spring, your calm summer nights and reflective mornings. Thank you to all the talented people that helped make this happen. Thank you for listening/buying/sharing. I hope to sing this to you live, sooner than later. xo
lyrics
KASHKA - Heavy Ghost
They say the light comes slow when you need it the most
I can hear your voice, whispering so low
with the mourning doves and the little sparrow
my shoulders creak under your heavy ghost
Running from shadows that break when I let it go
feeling the breeze on my face, like I used to know
Closing the door on the things we can't change on our own.
Break through your heavy ghost.
Well the timing's never right for anyone to leave,
an echoing goodbye and quiet footsteps of relief
but the mourning doves and the little sparrows
they still sing their songs, under your heavy ghost
Running from shadows that break when I let it go
feeling the breeze on my face, like I used to know
Closing the door on the things we can't change on our own.
Break through your heavy ghost.
There's got to be another side
There's got to be another side
Running from shadows that break when I let it go
feeling the breeze on my face, like I used to know
Closing the door on the things we can't change on our own.
Break through your heavy ghost.

I love it. This band specializes in rhythm and melody, and their secret weapon is gospel choir vocal harmonies that back most of the songs. This album is a tad more straightforward than their other two LPs, and all three are fantastic.
